The number of foreign tourists who visited South Korea in June is up nearly thirty percent from the same period last year.<br /> According to the Korea Tourism Organization, almost 1.3 million people visited Korea in June.<br />The hike was driven by tourists from China and Japan, with a fifty percent jump in Chinese tourists, and forty percent increase in Japanese visitors compared to the previous year. <br />Visitor numbers from Taiwan and Hong Kong were also up 32 percent and 13 percent, respectively.<br />Meanwhile, the number of tourists from the U.S. and Europe jumped by six percent compared to last year. <br />That jump has been attributed to stable inter-Korean relations following the June summit between North Korea and the U.S. <br />
